about
I really enjoy sharing my work and love to think it brings a smile to your face! People are my subject, past and the present. Sometimes I’m telling a story, other times I’m simply being daft!
My inspiration comes from photos, old and new. Once I’ve had my full of feeling sentimental and emotionally charged lovingly studying old photos, I trawl through my phone looking for quirky, most often silly images that I take or that have been sent to me. Always got my camera at hand!
The old photos take me back to that time and with those people, good memories. It’s pretty cool sharing my work with family and friends telling stories, remembering those we hold dear. Sometimes I might not know the person in the photo, but having a good yarn and hearing stories helps me make a connection. The clues are there to help me figure it all out!
When I fancy something different, I’ll pick up my phone looking for more contemporary photos. Not your traditional portrait but something a little off center, unusual, something to giggle about.
When I’m drawing away, my hands ache and the adrenaline pumps, followed by a sense of calm when the watercolor goes on. It’s a good feeling when it all comes together!
